Brian Noel addressed meeting advising everyone that we need volunteers for the can crushing operation. Right now, only he and Bob Apple are volunteering. If we cannot get more volunteers, we will have to cease doing it.
Brian also addressed the golf carts not obeying the street signs. Someone will get hurt one day. Please abide by the rules.
Brian spoke about not being able to sell 50-50 tickets This is something Sun Communities has ruled on. Brian said he has spoken to Todd and written to Jessica and will continue to follow up. One of Sun's communities was not playing by the rules so Sun shut down everyone. The HOA will continue to follow up on this matter.
Brian spoke about the fact that some people have complained that guests are participating in activities. Brian pointed out that this is permissable.
Treasurer Report - Howard presented the Treasurer's report and also advised it was posted. Howard also advised the members that we no longer have an office in the front. We went ahead and found a reasonable storage facility for our records. We also purchased a credit card machine so the members have that available to them when purchasing tickets for events, dues, etc.
Howard was able to buy insurance for a little over $1,000 this year after doing a lot of research and consulting with our attorney. This is a saving of $5,000. We also can buy event insurance for a couple hundred dollars per event.
Howard announced that we have a comedy show sheduled for October 17.
Motion was made, seconded and all agreed to accept the Treasurer report.
Secretary Report. Marianne Donner-Stone was attending the meeting via telephone and gave the report. She advised that the 2026 by-laws have been posted to the website and the bulletin board. She also addressed the fact that the membership drive starts in October. Packets will be made available which will include a census form. Complete form and put it in the lower box near back door. Also, we have resource book coming out which combines old welcome book and directory.
Welcome Committee – Jane Towne spoke about theld membership drive coming up. She pointed out that 2025 membeship was free because we use funds that were originally targeted for some improvements which Sun rejected. This year, we do not have that. We put together a resource book and directory which is financed by ads that we sold. She also pointed out that the next board which will be up for election in January will have five vacancies, inviting anyone who would like to be a candidate. It will be $15.00 to become a member and you will also receive a directory. If you do not become a member and you want a directory, the cost is $15.00.
Community Concerns Committee – Sharon Guy gave report on this committee. We have 26 new residents. Our website is our number one technology resource. Everything we've do is on that site. We've had success in learning what our concerns are through the communication devices available to us.
PLEASE NOTE: UNFORTUNATELY, MY RECORDER STOPPES RECORDING AFTER THIS. IM SORRY. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY
Meeting adjourned.
